Alís is a photojournalist, producer and visual storyteller based in Mexico City, covering migration, insurgency and organized crime across Latin America. Her work takes her to conflict zones, border routes and guerrilla territories — places where the story can’t be told from a distance.
She has served as an on-camera correspondent for Univisión, reported for Arte France and the Dutch series How to Be a Man, and contributed Latin American affairs coverage to LBC Radio and Times Radio in the UK. Her research has fed into landmark documentary projects — among them a National Geographic series on Toltec culture and the French production Rise and Fall of the Mayas (2023). Her photography has appeared in The Sunday Times and publications across three continents, and her byline has traveled further than most.
Alís holds a degree in Journalism from Universidad de Palermo in Buenos Aires and a Master’s in Documentary Photography from Mexico City. Before moving into international reporting, she hosted her own radio programs in Nicaragua and Buenos Aires, covering the cultural pulse of both cities — a foundation that shaped how she listens as much as how she sees.
